Why Lumen Park Szolnok matters

Lumen Park Szolnok was SolServices' first own investment and, when its trial operation started in 2022, the company described it as the largest solar park in Hungary. It was built as two adjoining plants, Szolnok I and Szolnok II, each of about 69 MWp of modules and 48 MW of inverter capacity.

The financing was a bilateral loan from UniCredit Bank Hungary, denominated entirely in forints with an interest-rate swap, at 80% credit intensity. UniCredit's 2022 annual report calls it the largest corporate green loan agreement of 2022 in Hungary, and the deal won a Transaction of the Year award that year. UniCredit's 2023 Green Bank release names the Szolnok financing as an example of its green lending.

Nature-friendly design

SolServices built Szolnok as its first "new-generation, nature-friendly" solar park. The company commissioned a baseline ecological survey in 2021, before construction, started a three-year monitoring programme in 2023, sowed a dedicated seed mix between the panel rows and opened an educational trail. It says nearly 95% of the site remains green surface.

In October 2024 the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary (BCSDH) gave SolServices a Sustainable Future Award in the biodiversity category for its Next-Generation Solar Park Professional Guide, which grew out of this park. The monitoring results, including higher plant species richness and protected species on site, are published on solservices.hu.
